We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin. — André Berthiaume

I have sat for many days looking at this post, wondering what people would say or what the reaction would be. It is time I remove the mask and be true to myself and who I want to be. I suffer from mental illness and all the battles that come with that.

I use to fight it, deny it, and I finally understand that it has shaped part of who I am today. I have learned that some of my best personality traits are a direct result of my struggles.

A close friend reminded me of the following “Your ups and downs are what got you to where you are today. And where you are at is amazing needless to say. You should be very proud that you found a way out because some of the great ones never do. And you are one of the greats.
